20th Anniversary Kurl for Kids Celebrity Charityspiel
April 9-11, 2009
Tam Heather Curling and Tennis Club
2009 marks our 20 th Anniversary and it promises to be one of the best events in recent years! We invite all curlers to come and join us on Easter Weekend for a chance to curl with some of the best curlers in Canada, to enjoy some good times and to raise money for neo-natal care through our support of the Sandra Schmirler Foundation.
Over the past two years we have raised over $60,000 for the Sandra Schmirler Foundation, adding to our 19 year total of just under $1.9 million! This year, with your help, we hope to break through two barriers, $100,000 for the Sandra Schmirler Foundation and that $1.9 million level.
We have made some changes this year. First you will notice our new logo designed by two-time BC Provincial Men's Champion Dean Joanisse of Victoria BC. There was a lengthy process whereby we had to review a large number of potential submissions and we would like to thank all of those who took the time to submit a creation and to those who gave feedback.
There has also been a major scheduling change. The first draw has been moved from 10:30am to 4:00pm. The first two games of each draw will now be played Friday evening.
In place of daytime curling we will now have the Monte Carlo Beach Party. This will run from noon until 3:00pm on Friday. Lunch, beverages and the opportunity to test your card playing abilities will take place in the Hospitality Suite. Chips can be purchased for $25.00 with all proceeds going to Kurl for Kids and those with leftover chips will have the ability to bid on prizes.
For those of you who prefer a swim or hot-tub, the Delta Hotel pool offers a casual environment in which to relax and enjoy aquatic activities.
All of this will allow you the opportunity to mingle with friends and Celebrity Skips before heading off to Tam Heather.

The 2008 Kurl For Kids had a very special guest, Emma Gushulak. She is the daughter of one of our long time Celebrity Skips and 2 time Provincial Ladies Champion (ON & BC), Diane McLean-Gushulak.
